The Area designs and implements actions for the national and international positioning of the Emilia-Romagna Region based on large research infrastructures serving the country.
Since 2015, it has been following and coordinating the implementation of the regional Big Data Community. In 2016, it provided technical assistance to the Region for the presentation of the candidacy, the management of technical and institutional relations with ECMWF, MAECI, and MUR, monitoring, realization, documentation, testing, commissioning, and institutional communication of the Tecnopolo Manifattura Data Valley Hub. Since 2022, it has been the National Focal Point for the candidacy for a United Nations University. Since 2021, it has been coordinating the activities of analysis and definition of new sectors in the aerospace and Critical Infrastructures. The Area also identifies innovative lines of technological development for the definition of new regional sectors with high potential.
