The Area supports the Emilia-Romagna Region in the management and governance of the Programmes financed with resources from the EU, the Italian Government and the Region.
Providing technical assistance, the Area works with the Public Administration in all the programme steps: from preparing calls and notifications to the public and the procedures to award financial contributions to managing and controlling the selected and financed operations, in order to achieve the programme objective in compliance with the EU, Italian and regional regulations.
Relying on over twenty years of experience in the implementation of EU programmes and in active participation in national and interregional negotiation groups, the Structural Funds Area works with the Regional Administration and interprets technical assistance as a capacity building activity, i.e. a process able to strengthen and enhance the management and governance skills that the Region already has in house.
Adopting an approach aimed at service innovation and effectiveness, through organizational optimization and improvement of the knowledge and skills of the individuals engaged in the processes, the Area’s structure comprises two Units and a Centre of Competence.
The Area ensures crosswise skills and operates to achieve synergies, integration and complementarity of the funds in order to contribute to the implementation of the regional policies aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Emilia-Romagna.
