CESME | Circular Economy for SMEs
COVID-19 had a major impact on how we live our lives. How we manage resources has never been more important. A strong recovery from the pandemic should be a green and sustainable recovery and circular economy is a critical element. The additional activities of CESME will help in this direction by exchanging experience and achieving policy changes that will support the recovery of business and economy sectors through the adaptation of CE.
The project will developed in 3 main stages.
- At first, the current situation in terms of COVID-19 impacts in the partners’ regions as well as the way the regional authorities responded will be recorded. Regarding the SMEs sector there were business that experienced a negative impact while others were benefited. Concerning environmental burden, this had increased due to the huge amount of generated plastics, packaging and food waste.
- In the 2nd stage the partners will identify new CE good practices that help tackling the crisis and recovering from it. There will be an exchange among partners through online and in-person learning events. The partners will discuss the good practices with their stakeholders and analyse the possibility of transferring them in their regions in favor of green growth and environmental sustainability.
- At the 3rd stage the partners will implement their policy changes inspired by the GPs identified within the partnership . The target of the extended project is to influence the policy instruments addressed. One of the main priorities of the EU Reconstruction Funds, as set at national level, is the Green Growth.
