The project aims to create a European network of Centers of Excellence on Vocational Education and Training (called COVE) composed by 6 centers in 5 countries to support innovation and sustainable competitiveness of the Advanced Manufacturing sector.

This sector is strongly influenced by the green and digital transition and it is facing changes and new challenges for which new skills are needed. The training of professionals and the development of local supporting policies are crucial factors.

The EXCEED project adopts the paradigm of "digital eco-innovation" which assumes the synergy between the digital and green transition and looks at the transition towards the circular digital economy as a powerful lever to accelerate innovation.

The 4-year project involves a public-private partnership made up of 39 public and private entities (including 18 full partners) to create an ecosystem of integrated skills for

  • the updating and retraining of low-skilled adults and workers at risk of marginalization through a joint internationalization project, flexible and personalized training offer for lifelong learning;
  • strengthen Higher Vocational Education and Training (VET) (EQF 4 and 5) by designing new curricula and updating existing ones;
  • adopting common strategies for talent management also through the creation of an International Talent Factory, enhancing the role that people with high skills have in the economic and social development of communities in different countries and the added value of the relationships that can be created;
  • skills updating and empowerment of VET trainers as key profiles translating innovation into educational contexts.

The countries involved in the project are Italy, Spain, Finland, the Czech Republic and Greece.

Dissemination and valorisation activities are foreseen which guarantee the promotion of the results during the different phases of the project.
