The main goal of the project is to support regional actors to anticipate the skills demand and understanding better what labour market is requiring, in order to help policymakers to design a more effective policy instrument, but also training and education organization to adequate their learning offerts according to the regional labour market needs and the Smart Specialization Strategy areas.

The project has delivered an open source tool, which shows data on skills and professional profiles sought by Emilia-Romagna companies according to the different Smart Specialization Areas of Emilia-Romagna.

The tool, created with the technical support of Lightcast, consists of three areas:

VACANCIES - data referring to online job vacancies offered in Emilia-Romagna in the last 12 months. This is the most advanced area, which use artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to extract information from job vacancies texts and produce added value information for stakeholders;
CONTRACTS - data on contracted job profiles, extracted from the SILER - Employment Information System of the Emilia-Romagna Region;
FUTURE NEEDS - data referring to planned revenues declared by businesses in Emilia-Romagna, extracted from Unioncamere's Excelsior information system.

Skills Intelligence Emilia-Romagna is an initiative of the Emilia-Romagna Region, created by ART-ER Attractiveness Research Territory, with the support of the European Social Fund+ 2021-2027, with the collaboration of the Regional Employment Agency, Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna , Clust-ER associations, Big Data association, and Lightcast technical support.
